Term Instructor in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a one-year term position in Mathematics at the rank of Instructor. This is a teaching position, where the successful candidate will teach mathematics courses at the pre-university, first-year and second-year levels, including math content courses for pre-service teachers and math courses for business students. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence August 1, 2021. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The selected candidate will join the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, which has sixteen regular faculty members.  Further information about the department, including descriptions of courses offered, is available at https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/mathstats/.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold an MSc in mathematics and have experience teaching at the university level. Experience teaching online classes would be an asset. Candidates must be committed to working toward success for students with various backgrounds, including those who struggle with math, while maintaining academic standards; have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; have excellent time management skills; and have a demonstrated ability to work well with colleagues and students.

  • a teaching statement and evidence of teaching effectiveness, including teaching evaluations, if available
  • a list of at least three references
