Inclusion in Mathematics Prize

The CMS Inclusion in Mathematics Prize recognizes a contribution by an individual or a group of individuals representative of a committed effort and/or a contribution to promoting a diverse and inclusive math community in Canada, whether at departmental, regional, or national level, whether across a research specialty, or otherwise.

The CMS is aware that EDI work is often under-recognized and may not fit within established frameworks, so the CMS welcomes non-traditional applications.

The recipient(s) will receive a commemorative plaque.

The inaugural prize will be awarded in 2026.

Selection Committee

The recipient(s) is/are chosen by representatives from the Equity, Diversity and Inclusiveness Committee and the Women in Mathematics Committee, based on the strength, merit and demonstrated impact of the nominated activities.
