CMS Election Results

As reported at the CMS June 3, 2011 Annual General Meeting, the following candidates have been acclaimed and electronically elected to be members of the CMS Board of Directors:
President Elect - Keith Taylor (Dalhousie);
Vice President - Atlantic Provinces: Karl Dilcher (Dalhousie);
Vice President - Quebec: Olivier Collin (UQAM);
Vice President - Ontario: Stephen Kudla (Toronto);
Vice President - Western Provinces and Territories: Michael Lamoureux (Calgary); and
Western Provinces and Territories - Adam Oberman (SFU).

Vice President – Atlantic Provinces: Karl Dilcher (Dalhousie);

Vice President – Quebec: Olivier Collin (McGill);

Vice President – Ontario: Stephen Kudla (Toronto); and

Vice President – Western Provinces and Territories: Michael Lamoureux (Calgary)

In addition, the following candidate has been nominated for the Board of Directors:

Western Provinces and Territories - Adam Oberman (SFU).

This year the CMS will be electing fifteen (15) officers and directors and the Nominating Committee wishes to announce its initial list of candidates for the 2011 elections. Each person on the list has agreed to be a candidate and to furnish the committee with biographical information.

You are invited to nominate other members to be candidates and their nominations will be accepted by the Nominating Committee prior to March 28, 2011 provided that each person nominated: (i) is supported in writing by at least five (5) other members of the CMS; and (ii) has given written acceptance to stand for office and to supply biographical information.

The CMS Nominating Committee proposes the following initial slate of candidates for the Executive Committee:

  • President-Elect: Keith Taylor (Dalhousie);
  • Vice-President – Atlantic Provinces: Karl Dilcher (Dalhousie);
  • Vice-President – Quebec: Olivier Collin (UQAM);
  • Vice-President – Ontario: Stephen Kudla (Toronto); and
  • Vice-President – Western Provinces and Territories: to be announced.

Nominations are also being solicited for some positions on the Board of Directors:

  • Atlantic – 2 members to be elected;
  • Quebec – 2 members to be elected;
  • Ontario – 3 members to be elected:
  • Western Provinces and Territories – 4 members to be elected; and
  • At Large – 1 member to be elected.

For 2011, the CMS will hold the election electronically. Information and voting instructions will be communicated to all individual CMS members. Updated information will be periodically e-mailed to members and posted on the CMS website.
