The Canadian Mathematical Society Announces New Executive Office Location
Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is delighted to announce that it has a new, permanent home at 616 Cooper Street in Ottawa, Ontario.
Thanks to the dedication of Dr. Javad Mashreghi (CMS President 2020-2022) and the Ad-hoc Committee for the Canadian House of Mathematics, the CMS was able to realize the dream of purchasing a Heritage House in Downtown Ottawa.
The Canadian House of Mathematics initiative has been in the works for almost two years and the CMS is overjoyed to have finally found a space that will enable us to continue our important work in promoting the discovery and advancement of mathematics in Canada.
After much deliberation, it was decided that obtaining a permanent residence for the CMS would be the soundest financial and social action for the Society to survive and thrive in the years to come. Of course, purchasing a building is no small feat, and the CMS expresses its sincere gratitude to those who have already made donations towards the Canadian House of Mathematics. The CMS invites members and friends to donate generously towards this initiative to help support the new home of the Canadian Mathematical Community.
