Postponement of 2020 CMS 75th Anniversary Summer Meeting
The CMS has decided to postpone the 2020 CMS 75th anniversary Summer Meeting that was to take place this June 2020 to summer 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team, our volunteers, the committees and the scientific directors all worked hard to organize the meeting and many of you carefully developed your sessions and prepared your presentations for June. We will make sure that your efforts have not been in vain and will celebrate the CMS anniversary bigger and better together next summer. At this point in time, we must fulfill our responsibility to our community and our society and prioritize the health of our members.
This postponement, which is a necessary measure for the well-being of our community, does however entail a substantial financial loss for the society mainly due to the cancellation penalties that have been imposed on us. We invite you to help us go through these hard times by donating a portion of your registration fee to this special cause. You can make your donation by logging into your member portal here. The CMS greatly appreciates any donations made, however small, and will issue a tax receipt for all donations of $10 and more.
The CMS is exploring virtual alternatives to hold the Annual General Meeting before July. We will communicate with you in the weeks to come to inform you of the details.
Thank you for your understanding. We wish you and your loved ones great health.
