The 2023 EGMO team is led by Anna Kelley (Princeton University) and Deputy Leader Kateryna Tretiakova (Thompson Rivers University) .
Anna and Kateryna are thrilled that Canada will be continuing its participation in the EGMO.
The CMS is proud to be sending a Canadian team to this year’s EGMO that is reflective of gender diversity of the Canadian mathematical community and the efforts of our members towards gender-inclusivity. The CMS will continue to work towards advancing gender equity and our support of female, trans or cis, and gender non-binary mathematicians will be unwavering and steadfast.
The Canadian Mathematical Society is grateful for the generous support received from the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo once again, and for the support of the RBC Foundation’s Future Launch program, Actuarial Foundation of Canada and Samuel Beatty Fund. Their support has been paramount and enabled the CMS to send a Canadian team to this important event celebrating girls and STEM.
This year, the EGMO 2023 will be held Portorož, Slovenia.
The European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad is an international mathematics competition similar in style to the International Mathematical Olympiad, with two papers taken on consecutive days. Participating countries send teams consisting of four female mathematicians of school age. The EGMO was first held in 2012 in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The 2023 EGMO will be held in Portorož, Slovenia.
