Canada has selected and sent a team to the IMC since 1999. The competition has two divisions: one aimed at upper primary students and the other for lower secondary students. Like the APMO and IMO, student participation is by invitation only. Former names: International World Youth Mathematics Competetion (IWYMIC) and Elementary Mathematics International Competition (EMIC).
