The Department of Mathematics is a growing, dynamic group of researchers and educators, focused on 21st century mathematics. The opportunity

The joint postdoctoral fellow program in Department of Mathematics at Toronto Metropolitan University with the Laboratory for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (LIAM) at York university seeks highly motivated candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow position, to work on research in the areas of the fixed point theory in product Banach spaces, fractional differential equations, elliptic partial differential equations and applications to population models.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with LIAM and will be expected to teach courses depending on availability.

The position is for a period of one year, with the potential for extension considered on a yearly basis thereafter.  Benefits will be offered alongside the one-year contract.

You will:

  • Document results of the studies in comprehensive reports and present them at meetings and conferences and preparation of manuscripts for publication.

  • Work closely with Professor Lan’s team and LIAM to accomplish project goals. 

Qualifications and Essential Job Functions:

  • Ph.D. in mathematics with knowledge of fractional differential equations, elliptic and/or parabolic partial differential equations, fixed point theories, and mathematical biology.

  • Possess strong team skills in a collaborative and transparent working environment.

  • Respect, understand, and value individual differences that embody the principles of diversity.

  • Abide by all environment, safety, and health regulations.
