The Women in Mathematics Committee of the CMS is pleased to highlight high quality resources on the web for and about women in mathematics. We have particular interest in resources offered to or by Canadians.
CWiMAC 2014: Connecting Women in Mathematics Across Canada - BIRS 2-day Workshop, October 3-5, 2014
Organized by the Women in Mathematics Committee of the CMS with support from BIRS, PIMS, and the CRM.
The weekend is intended to serve as a "career starter" retreat for young female Canadian mathematicians. Senior Canadian women mathematicians will serve as mentors and panelists during the workshop. Junior participants will have the opportunity to give short talks on their research. The aim is to strengthen networks and mentor graduate students and postdocs looking at entering the job market. Up to 18 junior participants will be selected to attend.
If you are interested please submit an application here. We ask you to include your name, affiliation, status, research area, supervisor name and a short statement of interest in the workshop.
Accomodations are provided by BIRS. We expect to have a modest amount of funding to aid the travel costs of junior participants. If you would like to apply for a travel subsidy, please indicate this in your application, along with your estimated total travel costs.

2 Weeks at WATERLOO - A Summer school for women in math
This is a two week, residential, enrichment program for up to 16 outstanding female undergraduates. The program will be held at the University of Waterloo from August 10-23, 2014. For more details and an application form see the website.
The goal of the Mentor Network of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is to match mentors, both men and women, with girls and women who are interested in mathematics or who are pursuing careers in mathematics. The network links mentors with women in various groups, including recent PhD’s, graduate and undergraduate students and is open to both members and non-members of the AWM. CMS members who are interested in becoming mentors or would like to request a mentor can visit the mentor network website at www.awm-math.org/mentornetwork.html and fill out the form provided.
Women in Math poster
As part of its celebrations of the World Mathematical Year in 2000, the CMS sponsored the creation of a poster on women in mathematics. The poster features six outstanding women mathematicians who were awarded the Krieger-Nelson Prize from 1995 to 2000. This prize is awarded annually by the CMS for distinguished research by women in mathematics and honours the careers of Cecelia Krieger and Evelyn Nelson. You can download a full-size version of the poster in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format.
