The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Mathematical Biology.

An appointment at a higher level may be possible under exceptional circumstances. The Department offers an excellent research environment with a normal teaching load of two-and-a-half courses per year.

We seek an individual who complements the Department's existing expertise in the mathematical modeling of cell biology, ecology, epidemiology, microbiology and physiology and who fits into our applied mathematics program (dynamical systems, differential equations, numerical methods, fluid dynamics, and probability). Preferential consideration will be given to applicants whose research is of interest to the members of the Mathematical Biology group.

The successful candidate will establish their own research program, supervise graduate students and teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants will have a PhD degree or international equivalent, demonstrated accomplishments and outstanding promise in research as well as a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching.
