James Rickards (Saint Mary’s University), Chair of the CMS International Mathematical Olympiad Committee, is proud of the team’s performance:

“The 2024 IMO was quite tricky, with problems 3/6 being extra difficult, and problem 5 having an unexpected answer that tripped up many contestants. Despite this, Canada brought home 4 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and one honourable mention. Congratulations to the team!”

This year, the team met in Banff, AB prior to the competition for training and preparation. Warm thanks to Victor Rong, Anna Kelley, Howard Halim, Alex Song, Kate Tretiakova and Eric Shen for their invaluable contributions in training Math Team Canada for the 2024 IMO.
