For the Toronto Colony Hotel, reservations must be accompanied
by a first night's room deposit or be guaranteed with a major credit card.
Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to arrival will be
charged to the credit card.
For the Metropolitan Hotel, reservations will be held until 4:00 p.m.
on the day of arrival unless guaranteed by a first night deposit, or major
credit card guarantee. Should a guaranteed reservation not be cancelled by
4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival, the cost of the room for the first night
will be charged to the guarantor.
For the Best Western Primrose Hotel, reservations will be held until
4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival unless guaranteed by a first night deposit,
or major credit card guarantee. Should a guaranteed reservation not be

Travel by Train:

Train passengers arrive at Toronto's Union Station, and may make their
way to hotels either by taxi or by subway. To reach the Colony
or Metropolitan Hotels from the Union subway station, go three stops
North on the University line, to the St. Patrick subway station, and
then walk East on Dundas St. to Chestnut St. To reach the Primrose Hotel
from the Union subway station, go 4 stops North on the Yonge line, to the
College subway station, and then walk or take the streetcar East on
Carleton St. to Jarvis St.
Travel by Bus:

Inter-city bus passengers arrive at the Toronto Coach Terminal, on
Bay street just North of Dundas. To reach the Colony or Metropolitan
hotels, walk West on Dundas St. to Chestnut St. To reach the Primrose
hotel, either take a taxi, or walk East on Dundas St. to the Dundas
subway station and take the subway North one stop to the College subway
station. From there walk or take the streetcar East on Carleton St.
to Jarvis St. Alternatively, one can walk North on Bay St. from the Coach
Terminal to College St, and then East on College/Carleton, a trip of
about 15 minutes.
Travel by Car:
The Toronto Colony Hotel is located on Chestnut Street, just 25
minutes from Pearson International Airport in the centre of the
action of exciting downtown Toronto. If travelling on the Gardiner
Expressway, exit at York Street to University Avenue
North, right on Armoury Street to Chestnut Street. From Don Valley
Parkway South, exit at Richmond Street to University Avenue North,
right to Armoury Street to Chestnut Street.
As the Metropolitan Hotel is across the street from the Toronto
Colony, travel directions are identical.
Travel directions for the Primrose are different.
Off the Gardiner Expressway, exit at Jarvis St. and proceed North to
Carleton. From the Don Valley Parkway South, exit at Richmond St., go West
to Jarvis St., and then North to Carleton St.
To reach the Colony from the Metropolitan, simply
cross Chestnut St. From the Primrose Hotel, take the streetcar
West to University Ave, and then take the subway south one stop,
to St. Patrick subway station. From there walk East on Dundas St. to
Chestnut St. Alternatively, it is about a 20 minute walk from the
Primrose to the Colony; West on Carleton/College to Bay, South on Bay,
and West on Dundas to Chestnut.
The University of Toronto / Fields Institute:
The Queen's Park subway station is one stop North of the St. Patrick
station, on the University line. It is located at the corner of
College Street and University Avenue. The University of Toronto
(resp. the Fields Institute) are reached by walking Northwest (resp. West)
from the Queen's Park subway station.
The meeting site is immediately North of Toronto city hall. The latter has a
lovely outdoor skating rink, on the Queen St. side. The Eaton Centre
is just to the East, between Dundas St. and Queen St. The Art Gallery
of Ontario is on Dundas St., west of the meeting site, past University Ave.
And the Museum for Textiles is one block West of the meeting site,
at 55 Centre Ave.
Delegates staying at the Toronto Colony Hotel may park for $14.00 per day,
with full in and out privileges.
Delegates staying at the Metropolitan Hotel may park for $19.00 per day for
self parking or $24.00 per day for valet parking. Both choices include full
in and out privileges.
Parking at the Best Western Primrose Hotel is limited but may be available for
$15 per day, with full in and out privileges.
