The Université de Sherbrooke invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor in quantitative methods in life sciences. This tenure-track position, based in the Department of Biology, will be a joint appointment between the Departments of Mathematics and Biology in the Faculty of Science and the Department of Community Health of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The successful candidate will have experience in data analysis in at least two different disciplines, including one related to life sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in analysis of high dimensional data or data with complex structures. Expertise of particular interest could include, but is not limited to, Bayesian statistics; GIS; machine learning and artificial intelligence; 'big data'; and complex systems. Research areas may include ecology, biodiversity, demography, quantitative genetics, epidemiology, and health informatics (e.g. analysis of electronic medical records). The selected candidate will also contribute to the development of the ALEA Center for Expertise in Scientific Data Analysis.
