Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Actuarial Science, starting July 1, 2018. The successful candidate is expected to teach a regular load of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the program each year, conduct research, supervise graduate students, and participate in public service and administrative duties, including assisting with the department's actuarial internship program. In cases where a candidate does not hold a PhD, professional actuarial involvement could be considered a substitute for conducting research and supervising graduate students.

Ideally the successful applicant will hold both a PhD and Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society. However, we will also consider applicants who are either:

  1. A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society with related work experience and a Master's degree. Or
  2. An Associate of the Society of Actuaries or an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, with also a PhD. in an area of study related to actuarial science.
A successful candidate with a Ph.D. degree is expected to develop an independent research program in the area of actuarial science or a closely related field.
