Faculty position in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the American University of Sharjah invites applications for a faculty position in mathematics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning August 2018, subject to budgetary approval. Applicants with a strong research potential in all areas of mathematics will be considered. While the area of specialization is open, candidates with research interests in pure mathematics are encouraged to apply.

Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in mathematics. Evidence of strong research potential, excellence in teaching at all levels of the curriculum and strong communication skills in English are expected. Experience in American-style higher education is an advantage.

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at AUS offers a master of science in mathematics, an undergraduate degree in mathematics, a minor in applied and computational mathematics, and a minor in actuarial mathematics. It provides courses in service to almost every academic program campus-wide. The department currently consists of 28 full time faculty members who are actively engaged in original research in different areas of mathematics and statistics.
