Applications are invited for one post-doctoral fellow position in Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Thompson Rivers University (https://www.tru.ca/science/programs/math.html). The research is to be led by Dr. Y. Nec.

The fellowship has no teaching duties and is particularly suitable for a talented mathematician to focus on research. The fellow will be given an opportunity to mentor junior research assistants.

The fellowship is open to candidates of any nationality, and selection will be based upon the candidate's research record and potential. The nominal start date is September 1, 2019, with a possible renewal for a second year subject to successful performance and budgetary approval. The screening process will begin June 1, 2019, and continue until the position is filled.

Candidates should possess research experience in the area of applied analysis of partial differential equations, numerical solution and asymptotic theory. The ideal applicant will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: anomalous reaction-diffusion and pattern formation, fractional PDEs, numerical techniques on infinite domains, fluid dynamics, visualisation of fluid flow. A Ph.D. degree is required at the time of the appointment.
