    Two Nine-Month Limited-Term Appointments

Department of Mathematics

Applications are invited by the Department of Mathematics for two nine-month limited-term appointments at the Assistant Professor level (subject to budgetary approval), to contribute to teaching commencing August 1, 2016. The tentative courses for the two positions are:

LTA1 in Applied Mathematics

MATH 1051H (fall term) Non Calculus Statistics I
MATH 2110H (fall term) Calculus III: Several Variables
MATH 2120H (winter term) Calculus IV: Vector Calculus
MATH-COIS 2180H (winter term) Introduction to Numerical and Computational Methods
MATH-ECON 4251H (winter term) Advanced Mathematical Methods for Economics

LTA2 in Pure Mathematics

MATH 1350H (fall term) Linear Algebra I: Matrix Algebra
MATH 3790H (fall term) Real Analysis
MATH 3310H (Winter term) Algebra III: Introduction to Abstract Algebra
MATH 2350H (winter term) Linear Algebra II: Vector Spaces
MATH 3700H (winter term) Metric Geometry and Topology

Both positions also involve participation in the supervision of Honours Projects.

In general, the successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a willingness to develop challenging and innovative approaches to teaching, as well as an ability to work closely with colleagues and students. Applicants should have a Ph.D in Mathematics, undergraduate teaching experience, and an active research program.
