MATHEMATICS INSTRUCTORS – Competition Number 16-17

Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Faculty of Science and Horticulture is currently seeking applications for two full-time regular faculty members in the Mathematics Department to commence their appointments as of August 25, 2016.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University is a special purpose teaching-focused university with campuses in Surrey, Richmond, Langley and Cloverdale, offering courses in each of three terms (Sept.-Dec., Jan.-Apr, and May-Aug.). Our university degrees and applied credentials successfully meet the evolving needs of regional and global employment markets. Kwantlen's Office of Research and Scholarship and four research institutes assist faculty and students in their efforts to produce innovative research relevant to the communities we serve.

Our new Applications of Mathematics Major programme has specializations in Biomathematics, Computational Mathematics, and Mathematics Education, and we are looking for candidates who will help us build our programmes. Further information on our courses can be found at http://www.kpu.ca/calendar/2015-16/science-hort/mathematics/mathematicsapplications-major.html.

The successful applicants will possess, at a minimum, a Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Mathematics or Statistics, successful experience teaching in a post-secondary setting, and a willingness to teach all levels of Mathematics, from preparatory through fourth year level. Expertise in one of our areas of specialization is an asset. Current industry or research experience in relevant fields is also an asset. Candidates with a wide range of mathematical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Please forward a letter of application, a current curriculum vitae, a one-page statement of teaching philosophy, evidence of undergraduate teaching success (teaching evaluations), a list of three professional referees able to comment on your teaching ability and academic accomplishments, and copies of post-secondary transcripts, quoting competition number 16-17 by January 29, 2016 to employ@kpu.ca

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
