The Department of Mathematics at the University of Manitoba invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level, commencing July 1, 2014, or as soon as possible thereafter. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Mathematics. The successful candidate will have: a record of excellence in research and successful undergraduate teaching, or the clear potential to develop a strong independent programme of research, and a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence; a firm commitment to graduate student instruction and supervision; and a commitment to service. One appointment is expected to be in Theoretical Partial Differential Equations, while the other appointment is expected to be in either Algebra or Number Theory. For both appointments, the Department is especially interested in candidates whose research complements or overlaps with the Department's existing areas of research strength.
