Math Team Canada 2012 Wins Olympiad Gold, Silver and Bronze (Jul 16)
Six Canadian high school students are celebrating their success as they return home from the 53rd International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Each of the six students earned a medal for Canada after competing against over 500 students at the world’s most challenging high school level mathematics competition.
Math Team Canada 2012 chosen for International Mathematical Olympiad (Jun 1)

UBC Mathematician Recognized for Research Excellence (Apr 12)
The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ailana Fraser (University of British Columbia) is the recipient of the 2012 Krieger-Nelson Prize. The Krieger-Nelson Prize was inaugurated in 1995 by the CMS to recognize female mathematicians who have made outstanding contributions to mathematical research.
Roland Speicher to Receive CMS 2012 Jeffery-Williams Prize for Research Excellence (Apr 12)
The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce that Roland Speicher from Queen’s University is the recipient of the 2012 Jeffrey-Williams Prize. The Jeffery Williams Prize was first presented in 1968 and is awarded annually to an individual who has made outstanding mathematical research contributions.

Canadian Professor Receives Prestigious International Award (Feb 27)

Excellence in Teaching Award. The award recognizes sustained and distinguished contributions in mathematics teaching at the undergraduate level at a Canadian post-secondary education institution.
