| A modified descent procedure for the algebraic K-theory of fields. |
In this talk I will present a refinement of the usual homotopy fixed point set construction used in the Galois descent approximation to the K-theory of a field. This refinement appears to have good properties, and at least in some cases gives the K-theory of the field on the nose. The refinement uses heavily the representations of the absolute Galois group.
