TENURE TRACK POSITION – ACTUARIAL SCIENCE

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications from candidates at all levels for a tenure track position in the field of Actuarial Science at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, PEI.
We seek exceptional candidates with industry experience who will work with our department to establish a new program in Financial Mathematics. This is part of a larger strategic initiative that would see the addition of programs at UPEI that focus on applied areas of Mathematics and Statistics, including Financial Mathematics, Actuarial Science and Analytics.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Actuarial Science and the designation of Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, or have the designation of Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in the planning and implementation of the new curriculum. They would be expected to maintain an active research program or participate in other scholarly activity, and teach broadly, across all years. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
The salary range is $96,055 - $105,736 annually, commensurate with credentials and experience. Full-time, permanent faculty receive a comprehensive fringe benefits package including group life, accidental death and dismemberment, supplemental health, travel insurance, pension, and long-term disability insurance. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.
