The University of Sherbrooke invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as a full-time professor in the Department of Mathematics (conditional to obtaining A Tier 2 (junior) Canada Research Chair).

DUTIES

  • Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Research and supervise graduate students at the master's and doctoral levels.
  • Actively participate in university life.
  • Service to the broader scientific community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree.
  • Be an excellent emerging world-class researcher who has demonstrated particular research creativity.
  • Candidates must also meet the eligibility requirements for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca).
  • Candidates must be able to teach in French or be able to rapidly achieve this ability (within two years of being hired).
  • We will favour a candidate who can participate in our centre de recherche en structures algébriques et géométriques (SAG).  However, all candidates with an excellent record of research will be considered.  SAG is a dynamic team grouping researchers with varied and complimentary interests.

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE : At the starting of the granted Canada Research Chair.
