Le Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) et l'Institut des sciences mathématiques (ISM) sollicitent des candidatures dans le cadre de leur programme conjoint de bourses postdoctorales débutant en septembre 2013.

La bourse postdoctorale CRM-ISM s'adresse à des chercheurs prometteurs ayant obtenu leur doctorat en mathématiques après le 1^er décembre 2008. D'une valeur de 40 000 $ CAN par année, renouvelable pour une deuxième année, la bourse permet à son bénéficiaire de consacrer la majeure partie de son temps à ses travaux de recherche sous la supervision d'un professeur appartenant à l'une des universités membres de l'ISM. Le montant de la bourse ne comprend aucune tâche d'enseignement. Si le boursier le désire, il pourra enseigner durant son stage et ainsi recevoir une rémunération supplémentaire.

Le CRM est un centre national de recherches en sciences mathématiques. Il regroupe neuf laboratoires de recherche et organise chaque année un large éventail d'activités scientifiques faisant appel à une participation internationale. Veuillez noter que la programmation thématique du CRM en 2013 dans le cadre du programme Mathématiques de la planète terre 2013 portera sur les approches interdisciplinaires en biodiversité et évolution, et sur les modèles et méthodes en écologie, épidémiologie et santé publique. Le semestre thématique hiver-printemps 2014 portera sur la théorie de Lie et ses applications.

L'ISM est un consortium formé de huit universités québécoises (Concordia, Laval, McGill, Sherbrooke, Université de Montréal, UQAM, UQTR et Université Bishop's). Il coordonne un grand ensemble de ressources des universités membres et organise de nombreuses activités pour les étudiants de cycles supérieurs.

Nous acceptons des demandes dans tous les domaines de recherche du CRM et de l'ISM, à savoir : algèbre et théorie des nombres, analyse, combinatoire, dynamique non-linéaire, géométrie et topologie, informatique quantique, mathématiques actuarielles et financières, mathématiques appliquées, méthodes mathématiques en imagerie médicale, physique mathématique, probabilités, statistique et théorie des catégories.

Les candidatures doivent parvenir au CRM au plus tard le samedi 1er décembre 2012. Les candidats sont priés de joindre les pièces suivantes:

The Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) and the Institut des sciences mathématiques (ISM) invite applications for their joint postdoctoral fellowship program starting in September 2013.

CRM-ISM postdoctoral fellowships are awarded to promising researchers who have obtained a Ph.D in the mathematical sciences after December 1st, 2008. The annual stipend is $40,000 CDN for one year and is renewable for a second year. This is a research fellowship, allowing the recipient to devote most of his or her time to research under the supervision of a professor from one of the ISM member universities. If fellows wish to teach, they may request to be offered teaching assignments for which they will receive an additional salary.

The CRM is a national research center in the mathematical sciences. It includes nine research laboratories, and every year it organizes a wide range of events attracting participants from around the world. The CRM's 2013 thematic semesters (part of the Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013 program) will focus on Interdisciplinary approaches in biodiversity and evolution, and on Models and methods in ecology, epidemiology and public health. The 2014 Winter-Spring thematic semester will be on Lie theory and its applications.

The ISM is a consortium composed of eight Québec universities (Concordia, Laval, McGill, Sherbrooke, Université de Montréal, UQAM, UQTR and Bishop's University). It coordinates the resources of the member universities and organizes a wide variety of activities for graduate students.

Applications are welcome in all fields of research in which the CRM and the ISM are actively involved, namely : actuarial and financial mathematics, algebra and number theory, analysis, applied mathematics, category theory, combinatorics, geometry and topology, mathematical methods in medical imaging, mathematical physics, nonlinear dynamics, probability, quantum computing and statistics.
