Want to be on the leading edge? Want to be part of a young, rapidly
growing, privately held company where innovation is more than a buzzword?
Where focus on high quality client experience and value creation is what
it's all about. If flexible hours, the "work hard – play hard" atmosphere
of a new `Googlelike' office and the absence of the stiff downtown glass
tower appeals to you, then consider joining our team!
The following will appeal to the Ideal Candidate:
- The gratification of a job well done comes from the satisfaction of your `clients'.
- It's in your nature to do less but do it really well and always deliver what you promise.
- Your strengths come from collaborating with others.
- Continuous learning and improvement is part of your mantra.
- You have no boss, but a mentor and guru, that guides you to master your skills and will expect you
to outshine him/her in the future.
- You work hard yet you find time to rejuvenate in your workplace.
- You love quality, yet you do not fall for the shining superficial stuff that pretends to be better.
- Your passion, outgoing personality and self motivation define who you are.
- You are curious, creative, biased for action and love solving problems.
- You don't assume that you are the best and have humility to learn from others.
- You see the world as a set of mathematical equations.
As a
Computational Mathematician / Algorithm Developer
at PumpWELL you will
report to the Manager of the Software Development team with the objective
of developing and constantly improving artificial lift optimization
software. You'll
- Work closely with software developers to ensure that complex systems and solutions modeled by
your mathematics and captured in your simple functional routines can be efficiently transferred into
final software tools, effectively maintained and easily improved in the future.
- Understand and evaluate a physical system and develop a full understanding of what solutions are
required to assist our optimization experts in effectively delivering our service.
- Choose and develop the best algorithms to model the physical system as required to develop
proprietary engineering tools.
- Develop unit tests, functional routines and optimize the code for even better performance and
easy implementation into software tools.
- Use iterative numerical methods for linear and nonlinear systems to create models to solve
practical engineering problems.
- Follow agile methodologies of software development.
Specific Skills and Requirements
we're looking for;
- MS or Ph.D in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical field with a strong
background in fundamental mathematics.
- Strong computing background.
- Understanding of physics, logic and software development techniques.
- Strong knowledge of numerical methods.
- Good understanding and experience in Matlab.
Nice to Have
- Experience or knowledge of Agile Development and SCRUM methodologies
- Understanding of C++ and/or object oriented coding
