The Department of Combinatorics and Optimization at the University of Waterloo invites applications for the position of Department Chair, beginning July 1, 2015. This will come with a tenured faculty position at the rank of Professor.
The successful candidate must have a PhD and be internationally recognized as a distinguished scholar in one of the department's research areas: algebraic combinatorics, combinatorial optimization, continuous optimization, cryptography, discrete optimization, graph theory, quantum computing. In addition, demonstrated academic leadership abilities are required. Duties also include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and supervising graduate students.
The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
