The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, together with the Natural Sciences Program, Faculty of Science, seek outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Statistics, Bio-statistics, or a closely related field with a focus on applications to the natural sciences. The candidate should have training and experience in interdisciplinary science and research, strong verbal and writing skills, demonstrated ability to lead a dynamic, independent, productive research program, demonstrated ability to obtain research funding, and supervise graduate students in statistics. Postdoctoral experience would be a definite asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses in both statistics and the natural sciences, contributing to our programs in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and in the Natural Sciences Program at the University of Calgary. A flexible, innovative approach to teaching in novel and non-traditional manners is a requirement. Since the position includes both teaching and research responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to recruit and supervise graduate students. Strong and enthusiastic contributions will be expected in both the teaching and research portfolios.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a vigorous and independent externally-funded research program within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
