The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of New Brunswick Saint John invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level, commencing July 1, 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics. The position is open to all qualified applicants; however the Department is especially interested in candidates whose research is in an area of applied mathematics which complements or overlaps with the Department's existing areas of research strength (fluid dynamics, combinatorics, financial mathematics).

The Mathematics Department consists of five full-time faculty members. We offer a Mathematics Major and maintain a graduate programme. UNB Saint John has a strong commitment to research and undergraduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating excellence in teaching and research.

A letter of application, including a curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of reference (at least one letter of reference must address the applicant's teaching ability and experience) should be sent to the address below or emailed to mathsci@unbsj.ca.
