Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in disease modelling and health economics at the Agent-Based Modelling Laboratory. The successful candidate will be expected to play a major role in multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional projects involving the evaluation of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of intervention strategies for emerging infectious diseases. The successful applicant will work, under the supervision of Dr. Seyed M. Moghadas, collaboratively in a highly interactive environment at the ABM-Lab.

Applicants should have significant experience in the development of agent-based simulation models, application of stochastic processes, health economics, cost-benefit analysis, and economic impact analysis, manipulating large datasets with knowledge of statistics and inference. Applicants must have excellent English language communication skills (both written and verbal). Previous experience working in a transdisciplinary research environment, and writing scientific articles would be an asset.

Applicants must be within 4 years of having completed their PhD in a field that is relevant to the research project (e.g., biology, computational social science, computer science, health economics, financial mathematics, biostatistics). The initial appointment will be for one year beginning July 2013 or soon after (but no later than August 1, 2013). Extension of the appointment is subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance during the first year. The salary commensurate with the experience of the candidate in the range of $40,000 to $48,000 CDN.
