    One-Year Faculty Fellow Position

Colby College invites applications for a one-year Faculty Fellow position, to start September 1, 2013. A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required. The teaching load is 4 semester-long courses. We seek a candidate who has demonstrated excellence in teaching at an undergraduate level, preferably as a full-time instructor. The ideal candidate will also contribute to the active research life of the department, engaging students in advanced aspects of mathematics through discussions or projects, and interacting with the present faculty in mathematical scholarship.

Submit cover letter, curriculum vitae, a summary of the ongoing research projects, and a letter discussing your teaching philosophy, classroom strategies and pedagogical initiatives. Arrange for three letters of recommendation (at least one of which specifically addresses your teaching accomplishments, and at least two of which address your research program in broad terms) through MathJobs.org. The deadline for the receipt of the applications is February 15, 2013; late applications may be considered at the discretion of the search committee.
